Ain’t that right, me ‘ol Doodlebug?

Doodlebug the Zookeeper and his magical pencil cane draw creatures to amaze and delight!

HULLABAZOODLE… IT’S FINALLY TIME! 🎉

Written in November 2021 and illustrated throughout 2022, Hullabazoodle has had more than its fair share of twists, turns and downright unfortunate events.

One thing after another stood in the way of Doodlebug and friends making their grand entrance into the world.

BUT NOW… THE WAIT IS OVER! And to that, I say, HELL YES! 🙌

However, behind this weirdly wonderful little adventure lies a much more personal story.

The release of Hullabazoodle is bittersweet. My darling mama, my best friend, was right there beside me in those early days, helping me choose the wonderfully weird creatures that would bring this mini kiddie thriller to life.

Oh, how we laughed! And I mean proper, belly-aching, tears-streaming-down-your-face kind of laughter as we discovered these extraordinary creatures and their perfectly peculiar place in the world of Hullabazoodle.

I can still remember that wide-eyed excitement as each character took shape, bursting into life in true Hullabazoodle style. Those moments, those giggles, that shared magic with my mama… I will treasure them for the rest of my life.

Now, as Hullabazoodle finally prepares to spread its weird and wonderful wings, there’s a little ache in my heart knowing she isn’t here to see it.

But she’s part of this story. Woven into its beginnings, tucked inside its memories, and forever part of the magic that made it what it is.

So, this one’s for you, Mama. ❤️

The wait is over. The creatures are ready. And our adventure is finally about to begin!

I truly hope the wait hasn’t driven you completely bonkers and that, at long last, it’s been worth every frustrating moment! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here and sharing this wonderfully weird journey with me.

Now, it’s finally time to let your imagination run wild, embrace the unexpected, and dive headfirst into the adventure that awaits.
